- You don’t want to manage a home after PCS
Buying works best if:
- You’re staying 3+ years
- You want to rent the home after PCS
- You want to build equity using your 0% down VA loan
From a 30-Year Navy Veteran’s Perspective
After three decades of moving, serving, and living in Hawaii, I know which neighborhoods:
- match your commute
- align with your BAH
- fit your lifestyle
- prevent PCS stress
My personal story in real estate began in Hawaii after living in base housing for 5 years in the same housing outside of Pearl Harbor (Hale Moku), that President Jimmy Carter lived in, but many years later, when he was a young officer. I immediately looked back and realized that I spent my entire BAH on Navy housing. Assuming my rent was $3000/month, I forfeited $180,000 of rent over a 5 year tour, on what could have been equity. I immediately made the decision to purchase my first home and never looked back.
Let me guide you.
